More than 600 runners came together at The Mactan Newtown on September 26, 2026, for an evening of running, community, and giving back through Marriott International’s Road to Give: Night Pulse.
For its Cebu staging this year, Road to Give brought Marriott associates, partners, guests, and members of the community together for a charity run with a simple but meaningful purpose: move together, give back, and make a difference.
Held for the first time at The Mactan Newtown, the evening run turned the township into a lively gathering place as participants took part in a night dedicated not only to fitness, but also to community and charitable giving.
The Cebu event was organized by Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort, Fairfield by Marriott Cebu Mactan, and Fairfield by Marriott Cebu Mandaue City, with the support of Marriott associates, partners, sponsors, volunteers, and runners.
Road to Give Cebu Marks 12 Years of Giving Back
The Road to Give is Marriott International’s annual charity run initiative, bringing together associates, guests, business partners, and communities through running and fundraising for charitable causes.
Now on its 12th year, the initiative continues its tradition of using movement as a way to create meaningful community impact.
The Cebu staging was also the second Road to Give run organized by Marriott International properties in the Philippines in 2026, following the successful Clark Pampanga Run earlier this year.
For Cebu, bringing the event to The Mactan Newtown gave the run a new setting and brought together more than 600 participants for a memorable night of camaraderie and purpose.
“It was truly inspiring to see more than 600 people come together for Road to Give, especially as this is our first time holding the event at The Mactan Newtown. The turnout is a testament to the generosity and community spirit of our associates, partners, and participants. We hope to build on this momentum by expanding the event even further next year and reaching more people who can join us in supporting this meaningful cause,” said Ria Ledesma, NextGen Officer and CMCA Director of Residential Services.
More Than Just a Night Run
What makes Road to Give special is that the event goes beyond simply crossing the finish line.
It creates an opportunity for people from different backgrounds to come together for a shared purpose. Runners, Marriott associates, sponsors, partners, and volunteers all played a part in making Road to Give: Night Pulse possible.
In the Philippines, the initiative is supported by the Marriott Worldwide Business Councils Philippines (MWBC-PH).
According to Dottie Wurgler, Multi-Property General Manager of Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort and Fairfield by Marriott Cebu Mactan, the heart of Road to Give lies in bringing people together around a common purpose.
“What makes Road to Give so meaningful is the way it brings people together around a common purpose. The support of our sponsors, partners, runners, and associates reflects a shared commitment to uplifting communities, improving the lives of children, and caring for our environment.”
She added that every contribution reflects the compassion and generosity of the community, showing how small acts of giving can create meaningful and lasting impact.
A Night of Running, Community and Giving
With more than 600 people participating, Road to Give: Night Pulse Cebu 2026 became more than an evening run.
It was a celebration of what can happen when a community comes together for something bigger than themselves.
From the runners who showed up ready to take on the course to the Marriott associates, sponsors, partners, and volunteers working behind the scenes, every person became part of the night's story.
And perhaps that is what Road to Give continues to remind us after 12 years: sometimes, giving back starts with simply showing up.
As Marriott International continues its Road to Give journey, Cebu’s Night Pulse adds another meaningful chapter to its story of community, camaraderie, and giving back.
