Cebu has always evolved and will always be one of the tourist destinations. As a Cebuana, I’ve always been fascinated with the changes and updates of what Cebu has become. Discoveries of new places here and there and restaurants opening from every corner of Cebu. It never stops from giving us the best and never run out of purpose why Cebu is always on top.
Just this September 20, 2018, Balay sa Busay had its soft opening to bring back the table of the Cebuanos. The forgotten culture of the millennials of always eager to come home to taste the food cooked by "Nanay." Now, Miss Christine, the owner, has researched a lot of the original recipes of the Cebuanos with a little bit of twist and served in a modern way.

Balay sa Busay |
Balai sa Busai is located 20-30 minutes in the uplands of Cebu. Just take the same route when going to the prominent "TOPs" of Cebu. On your way up to your left just beside Delice is the new Filipino restaurant called "Balay sa Busay".
When asked what makes you different from the rest of Filipino restaurants opening in Cebu, listen to what miss Christine has to say which struck me the most. She had been spending a lot of her time brainstorming and finally coming up to a decision of reintroducing original Cebuano recipes that she felt should be revived and be made known to the young individuals of today and for them to experience our very own food.
I felt glad hearing these words from the owner. Her visions are truly carrying out not only for the present generation but it also includes the next generation. Definitely worthwhile.
Balay sa Busay introduces us again to the "Balay" that we ought to go home to eat meals with our family. While they have named their food after the usual Cebuano names like Hamonada sa among bukid, Adobong Binisaya ni Bebe, Binagoongang baboy ni tiyo and a lot more.
Isn't it great to know we have our very own menu that dignifies us as locals from Cebu?
Here is the menu of Balay sa Busay:
Busay is our "Tagaytay" in Cebu which preferably means a perfect package of an awesome view and a cold weather. A very romantic place for your family and friends gatherings. They also have two functions rooms for events that you can reserve for special occasions.
