Some birthdays are simply celebrated. Others make you pause and feel grateful that you were there.
I think Miss Ludy’s 55th birthday was one of those afternoons for me.
I was invited to celebrate with her as she marked her 55th birthday, together with the soft launch of BLvD Magazine. It was a small gathering, but sometimes, I find that the smaller celebrations are the ones where you get to really talk, laugh, take photos, eat, and simply enjoy being around people.
And knowing that Miss Ludy had also celebrated her birthday in Tanzania made me smile. What a way to celebrate 55! A birthday, a new adventure, and now another new chapter with BLvD Magazine.
Being a blogger, I attend quite a number of events, but I always appreciate it when I can feel the person behind the celebration. This didn't feel like I was simply there to cover an event. It felt more like I was invited to share a little part of someone's special day.
And of course, picture-picture ta! Hehe. 😄

There's something special about reaching 55.
It's not just the number. It's all the years behind it. The people you've met, the places you've been, the things you've learned, the challenges you've gone through, and all the little moments that somehow brought you to where you are today.
And I love that Miss Ludy chose to celebrate this season of her life surrounded by people and also by something new, the beginning of BLvD Magazine.
A birthday and a soft launch in one afternoon.
Why not? Life is meant to be celebrated.
And the little things made the afternoon extra special
Of course, I have to share the people and brands who helped make the celebration happen because these are the details that we enjoyed during the afternoon.
Sincerely, Books took care of the venue and media refreshments, which gave us a comfortable place to gather and catch up.
For the travelers like me, Miguu Expedition had something particularly useful: luggage tags! I always get excited about travel-related things, so this one definitely caught my attention. They also have a PR kit that will be distributed, so I'm looking forward to checking that out too.
Then came the food.
The charcuterie showcase by Bon Appetitas was one of those setups that immediately made me want to take photos first before eating. 😂 And because the charcuterie was outside, we eventually moved over there after the short program and spent more time enjoying the food and conversations.
And who could miss the macaron tower from Dahlia Chocolates? It was such a pretty and sweet addition to the celebration.
There was also A Plus Clinic Premier Aesthetics, D+B Wines & Spirits, and BLvD Magazine, who provided the wine gift.
And yes, I have to give a little shout-out to the people behind my look that afternoon.
Thank you, Dexter Alazas, for my outfit, and Christine Virtucio Designs for my accessories. You know me, if there's an occasion, I will make sure I have something nice to wear. 😄
And because celebrations are always better with something sweet, Donuts R Us also joined the celebration with their donuts.
So many people and brands contributed something to the afternoon, and I think that's what makes an event like this feel extra special. Behind every little detail are people who took the time to be part of someone's celebration.
More than the photos
I honestly enjoyed the simple moments.
Walking around.
Taking photos.
Talking to people.
Laughing.
Eating a little here and there.
Then moving outside and staying near the charcuterie.
Nothing too complicated.
Just people coming together for a birthday and a new beginning.
And maybe that's what I appreciated most.
In the middle of our busy lives, we don't always get the chance to stop and celebrate someone properly. So when we do, I think we should really enjoy it.
No rushing.
No overthinking.
Just be there.
