Origami Sharks at lyf Cebu City
On August 29, lyf Cebu City celebrated with a stunning display of 12,479 origami sharks, earning the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® title for the “Largest Display of Origami Sharks.” This display highlighted the Thresher Shark, a symbol of Cebu, and was created in partnership with Save Philippine Seas, promoting conservation efforts for the species.
Rey Vergel Mulat, lyf Champion and residence manager of lyf Cebu City, expressed gratitude for the community's involvement and emphasized lyf's commitment to sustainability and responsible hospitality. The origami sharks will be upcycled into a new art piece, continuing lyf's focus on creativity and environmental consciousness.
A Starry Celebration at lyf Malate Manila
On August 30, lyf Malate Manila hosted a star-themed event, featuring a display of 100,000 origami stars that secured a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® title for the “Largest Display of Origami Stars.” The display paid homage to Filipino history, incorporating elements like traditional Balangay boats and galleons that symbolize the Philippines' rich maritime past.
The evening included a vibrant market, live performances by top artists like Maki and Over October, and music by DJ Rammy Bitong, creating an unforgettable atmosphere on Malvar Street.
