Globe is elevating connectivity across Cebu’s renowned travel spots, celebrated for their stunning natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and thrilling adventure tourism. By enhancing digital infrastructure in these areas, Globe is not only enriching the experiences of both locals and visitors but also driving growth in the province’s local industries.
Strategically positioned, the new cell towers are located in Brgy. Cantabaco in Toledo City, Brgy. Esperanza in Poro, Brgy. Maya in Daanbantayan, Brgy. Tabagak in Madridejos, and Brgy. Linao in Talisay City.
“Globe is dedicated to bridging the digital divide and providing world-class connectivity across the nation. Our goal is to ensure that communities have access to advanced digital infrastructure, which opens doors to new opportunities for growth,” said Joel Agustin, Globe SVP and Head of Network Planning and Engineering. “By enhancing internet access in Cebu's key tourist areas, we are not only improving the experience for visitors but also unlocking new opportunities for local communities,” he added.
Brgy. Cantabaco, Toledo City
Brgy. Cantabaco, hailed as the Philippines’ premier climbing destination, draws adventurers from around the globe. However, the mountainous landscape has long posed signal challenges, making communication difficult. Globe’s new infrastructure now allows climbers to stay connected and share their experiences in real time, while also providing essential connectivity for nearly 10,000 residents, including students needing support for their academic pursuits.
Brgy. Esperanza, Poro
Serving as the gateway to the Camotes Islands, Brgy. Esperanza is steeped in history and rich in eco-tourism, with attractions like marine sanctuaries. Globe’s new tower is expected to boost tourist traffic, benefiting local businesses and over 3,400 residents. Key areas now covered include the Esperanza Barangay Hall, Lucky Farm Aloguinsan Mj, Lola Hermenia’s Place, Maktang Beach, Buho Rock Resort, and Tangub Cave.
Brgy. Maya, Daanbantayan
Famed for its pristine beaches and world-class diving spots like Malapascua Island, Daanbantayan is a jewel in Cebu’s tourism crown. With Globe’s new tower in Brgy. Maya, tourists can seamlessly share their beach and diving adventures online. The improved connectivity also supports local fishermen, farmers, and the barangay’s 10,000 residents, enhancing access to information and essential services like early warning systems and emergency response in this typhoon-prone area.
Brgy. Tabagak, Madridejos
In Madridejos, Globe’s new tower in Brgy. Tabagak will benefit over 2,000 residents, primarily supporting the local fishing industry. The improved connectivity also highlights the area’s scenic coastal landscapes and inviting beaches, promoting tourism growth.
Brgy. Linao, Talisay City
Despite being an urbanized area, Talisay City retains a wealth of historical heritage and agricultural roots. Globe’s tower in Brgy. Linao provides enhanced connectivity for nearly 10,000 residents, bolstering the barangay’s appeal as a growing tourist destination. The improved network also supports the city’s expanding residential areas, trading centers, and a variety of tourist attractions, including hotels, recreational facilities, and food establishments.
As Cebu solidifies its status as a leading tourist destination in the Philippines, Globe's network expansion is pivotal in meeting the increasing demands of both residents and visitors. By bridging the connectivity gap, Globe is not only enriching the tourist experience but also playing a crucial role in the sustainable economic development of these communities.
