Happening from August 6 to 31, the month-long festival pays tribute to Cebu's rich lechon heritage through authentic hometown flavors, talented Cebuano chefs, and exciting culinary experiences that honor one of the province's most iconic dishes.
Organized annually by The Mactan Newtown in partnership with the Provincial Government of Cebu, the festival continues its mission of showcasing Cebu lechon while recognizing the lechoneros, family traditions, and local communities that have preserved this beloved culinary legacy through generations.

One of the festival's biggest attractions is the Great Cebu Lechon Market at Mactan Alfresco, happening from August 7 to 9. Here, visitors can enjoy signature lechon from 10 participating cities and municipalities across Cebu, each presenting its own unique take on the island's favorite roast.
Joining this year's market are Barili, Medellin, Alcoy, Argao, Carcar City, Dalaguete, Dumanjug, Talisay City, Consolacion, and Samboan, with Lapu-Lapu City serving as the host.
Every locality brings its own identity to the table, from distinct seasoning blends and flavorful stuffings to roasting methods carefully handed down through generations. The market offers guests a rare opportunity to compare and savor the diverse styles that make Cebu lechon a celebrated culinary tradition.
Honoring Cebuano Culinary Excellence
The festivities officially begin on August 7 with Cebu's Best Lechonero, a competition that recognizes the craftsmanship and expertise of local pitmasters whose dedication to the art of roasting has become a source of Cebuano pride.
On August 8, food lovers can look forward to the Sugbuanon Paksiw Wars, where participants present their own versions of the beloved Cebuano classic made from lechon. The day also features the Lechon Chef Cook-Off, a friendly culinary showdown between chefs from Savoy Hotel and Mercure Hotel Cebu.
The excitement continues on August 9 with the Culinary Showdown, bringing together professional chefs, aspiring culinarians, and food enthusiasts to create innovative dishes inspired by Cebu's signature roast, proving that lechon remains a versatile ingredient for both traditional and modern cuisine.
Families can also enjoy Paint My Lechon from August 7 to 9, where young participants can decorate their own mini lechon after a minimum spend of ₱1,500 at participating establishments within The Mactan Newtown.
Also taking place on August 9 is the much-awaited Lechon Eating Competition, followed by the Lechon Fest Street Party featuring DJ Matt Balili and DJ Renzo. The celebration also serves as a festive gathering for IRONMAN 70.3 athletes, their supporters, residents, and visitors enjoying the weekend festivities.
