Pagudpud City

Pagudpud is settled on the Northern Part of Ilocos. It is known for its white sand beaches and beautiful resorts. Bordered by the town of Bangui and Cordillera Mountain Ranges and with South China Sea that lies to its North and West ends, Pagudpud has a windy climate and is  more emphasized due to its prominent windmills in Bangui.

How to get there:

> A bus ride from Laoag City or Vigan City to Pagudpud

> If you are on a private vehicle, It is an hour drive from Laoag City

• As for our seven day escapade: I would like to thank F & F Travels and Tours for accommodating our trip from Manila (Pick up: Mall of Asia @ 9am). With Php 3288/head, it already includes the van, 2 nights in Vigan City with Pagudpud, Laoag City and Pagudpud City tours.

Our First stop in Pagudpud: 

Cape Bojeador Lighthouse, also known as Burgos Lighthouse, is a cultural heritage structure in Burgos, Ilocos Norte, that was established during the Spanish Colonial period in the Philippines. It was first lit on March 30, 1892, and is set high on Vigia de Nagpartian Hill overlooking the scenic Cape Bojeador where early galleons used to sail by. After over 100 years, it still functions as a welcoming beacon to the international ships that enter the Philippine Archipelago from the north and guide them safely away from the rocky coast of the town. When we reached the lighthouse, a wave of nostalgia swept over me as I get inside the  old rooms with old paintings in it, an old bed and old equipments. But it is not all bad at all as when i made it to the top of the lighthouse and watched the surroundings in the veranda, It was marvelous! The overlooking scenery was just astounding. You can see the whole Pagudpud and a glimpse of the windmills.

Then we moved to their white beach:

The crystal blue water bordered by fine white sand just says it all. We just enjoyed taking pictures and making photo tricks. We talked while sitting in the sand and everything was just so fast that we have to move to our next stop.

Our next stop was Bangui Wind Mills:

It feels like I am not in the Philippines. I was surprised of how genius the ilocanos are in being able to think of making this brilliant windmills that can generate electricity to 300 homes per windmill in Pagudpud. As of today, there are 150 windmills in Bangui.

We moved on to our last stop at Kapurpurawan Rock Formation:

It was just perfect! The sea, the rocks, the windmills… wholly natural!

I just love the feeling of taking pictures and enjoying the calm wind blowing my hair. It was just a feeling of relief! stress free and a feeling of summer.

Having been able to visit this place was such a pleasure as I came to realize that not only are we rich with natural resources, but undeniably, we are also gifted with "great minds" thus, the invention of windmills in Pagudpud. We always have the chances to be a great nation, If only we fight for it. Indeed our country is WOW PHILIPPINES!
