Tim Ho Wan, a Michelin starred Dim Sum Restaurant opens in Cebu!

The most affordable Michelin-Starred Dim Sum Restaurant, Tim Ho Wan opens in Cebu!

Cebuanos has a new dine in restaurant to go to and that's TIM HO WAN, Hongkong's famous Michelin-starred dim sum restaurant opens in Cebu at the Upper Ground Floor, Mountain Wing of SM Seaside City this March 25, 2017. This the 7th branch in the country, first outside Metro Manila and only Michelin-rated restaurant in Cebu.

Renowned today as the "most affordable Michelin-starred dim sum restaurant in the world", the accolade was a testament to the affordable luxury that Tim Ho Wan consistently offers in terms of taste, quality, and value. Tim Ho Wan, in Cantonese, translates to "additional goodluck" but its brand philosophy is anchored on  dim sum perfection in every detail.

Precision is the rule of thumb for all chefs in the kitchens. Every detail is carefully scrutinized, from dish placement, service delivery, to specific sizing of every morsel, down to the folds of the snowy skin for dumplings. This take years of mystery to instill, and the consistency in taste and freshness across every Tim Ho Wan outlet is evident. The dim sum is handmade-to-order, not pre-steamed and reheated, to retain its much intended flavour and texture. Around 70%of its premium ingredients are imported from Hongkong.

Four Heavenly Kings at Tim Ho Wan
The Four Heavenly Kings are the stars in Tim Ho Wam's menu that diners queue up hours for.
The Baked Bun with BBQ Pork is a world famous, gaining Tim Ho Wan its success and international following. It's unique texture is enticing with an exterior that is crumbly and fluffy, while the inside oozes with barbecued pork, giving it a sweet-salty contrasting taste. The other three are the Steamed Egg Cake, Beancurd Skin with Pork & Shrimp, and Pan Fried Radish Cake.

The Steamed Egg Cake is light and spongy, with a nice caramelised taste that lingers on the tongue.
The Beancurd Skin with Pork & Shrimp is silky and wrapped thinly. The combination of pork and shrimp gives a burst of flavours with every bite. Rounding up the line-up is the lightly Pan Fried Radish Cake , spiked with bits of the vegetable to tickle taste buds. Other mainstays in the menu of around 30 classic, Cantonese dim sum delights include the Steamed Chicken Feet with Black Bean Sauce, Steamed Pork Dumpling with Shrimp, and Glutinous Rice with Lotus Leaf. With no dish over 200 and exquisite flavours that make it well worth the wait, Tim Ho Wan continues to earn the acclaim of food critics and hearts of epicureans well beyond Hong Kong.
