BYD Cars Philippines, Department of Tourism, and ACMobility Kick Off Visayas Leg of “Drive Electric. Love Pinas.” Campaign in Cebu

CEBU, PHILIPPINES — The nationwide “Drive Electric. Love Pinas.” tour has officially reached Cebu, signaling the start of its Visayas leg following a successful run across Luzon. The electrified road trip is a collaborative initiative by BYD Cars Philippines, the Department of Tourism (DOT), and ACMobility, aimed at promoting sustainable tourism while demonstrating the growing viability of electric mobility in the country as the team rediscovers local culture and landmarks across the Philippines.
Led by travel content creator Wil Dasovich, the cross-country journey features a nine-vehicle convoy composed of BYD’s latest new energy vehicle (NEV) models. These include the BYD Shark 6 DMO, built on a rugged off-road platform, and the BYD eMAX 7, a fully electric seven-seater MPV.
During the Cebu leg, the team held a welcome event at BYD Cebu Central, where the BYD Shark 6 DMO demonstrated its V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) capability by powering parts of the festivities. In between tour stops, Wil also explored several Michelin Guide-listed restaurants in Cebu, highlighting the island’s vibrant culinary scene.
The initiative likewise highlights the continued expansion of the Philippine EV Spine Network, supported by ACMobility’s growing charging infrastructure. This network enables seamless long-distance electric travel from Pagudpud to General Santos City. From Cebu City, Wil will continue exploring destinations across the island before the convoy moves on to key locations in the Visayas and eventually heads to Mindanao.
“This journey shows that sustainable mobility is no longer a distant dream—it is already here and ready to serve Filipinos from north to south,” said BYD Cars Philippines Managing Director Bob Palanca during the Cebu welcome event.
