BanKo Strengthens Commitment to Financial Inclusion, Expands Support for Filipino Micro-Entrepreneurs

BanKo continues to strengthen its commitment to financial inclusion by expanding support for Filipino micro-entrepreneurs and underserved communities nationwide. As BPI’s microfinance arm, the bank provides accessible loans, savings products, and practical financial services that help self-employed individuals sustain and grow their livelihoods.

In 2025, BanKo released Php 23.7 billion in loans to self-employed micro-entrepreneurs and now serves more than 1.4 million clients across 412 branches nationwide. It continues to improve accessibility through branch expansion, digital onboarding, and QR-enabled processes that make banking easier and more convenient.

Beyond banking services, BanKo also invests in financial education and grassroots engagement through initiatives such as the BanKommunity Program, which reaches groups including farmers, fisherfolk, sari-sari store owners, TODA members, market vendors, and salaried individuals. The bank also brings services closer to communities through BanKo On-The-Go, its roving banking vehicle initiative.

Adding to this mission is BanKo brand ambassador Kathryn Bernardo, who continues to champion the bank’s advocacy of uplifting Filipino micro-entrepreneurs and their families. At the 8th BanKo Champions Night, Kathryn met with BanKo Champions, listened to their stories, and recognized their dedication in serving communities nationwide. Her presence underscored her support for financial inclusion and BanKo’s vision of helping more Filipinos move closer to their dreams.

Guided by the philosophy, “Sa BanKo, may Ngiti ang Bukas mo,” BanKo continues to strengthen its role as a trusted financial partner for Filipino families, workers, and micro-entrepreneurs across the country.
