The new route strengthens PAL’s commitment to regional connectivity, while positioning Cebu as a key international hub for both leisure and business travelers. It also responds to the growing demand for more convenient travel options linking the Philippines with the U.S. Pacific territory.

“Launching this service highlights Cebu’s role as a vital gateway to international markets,” said Richard Nuttall, PAL President. “It provides Guam’s Filipino community and U.S. Pacific travelers direct access to the Visayas and Mindanao, while supporting the growth of tourism and trade between the Philippines and Guam.”
Aboitiz InfraCapital Cebu Airport Corporation CEO Athanasios Titonis welcomed the development, citing its economic impact: “Restoring direct flights to the U.S. via Guam strengthens connections, boosts tourism, and expands economic opportunities for both destinations.”
From Cebu, PAL already flies directly to Ho Chi Minh, Incheon, Narita, and Osaka, along with domestic routes to Manila, Siargao, Bacolod, Caticlan, Iloilo, Puerto Princesa, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Butuan, and Busuanga. These routes offer smooth same-day links for travelers across the Visayas and Mindanao heading to international markets.
Guam, where Filipinos make up nearly 30% of the island’s 179,000 residents, is a key part of PAL’s U.S. route network, which also includes Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Seattle, and Honolulu. The new Cebu–Guam connection not only supports travel and cultural exchange but also highlights PAL’s historic role in linking the Philippines to the Pacific.
PAL first landed in Guam on July 31, 1946, becoming the first Asian airline to serve the U.S. mainland. Nearly 80 years later, the new Cebu–Guam flights reaffirm the airline’s enduring mission: connecting Filipinos with the world.
